Day Conference with Nurslings
This past Saturday, we attended an 8-hr conference featuring Christopher West. We left our toddler with his grandparents but because they are still nursing, we brought along our pair. We sat in the last row on the side that was less crowded, in case they cried (which, surprisingly, they didn't). We each wore them in the Ergo Baby and brought our double Esprit Duo stroller, which we used to place them in when we needed our hands free or to change their diapers since the seat conveniently reclines to a lying-down position. It was raining that morning so we arrived a little later than we anticipated. Before going in, we nursed both babies in the car. The last time they nursed was when we left home a little behind schedule at 5:30am. The conference started with Mass at 7 or 7:30. Christopher West didn't start speaking until close to 8:00. We wore the babies and they pretty much slept until break at 10:00. We waited until the break was over and nursed again while Christopher West gave his talk. We were dismissed for lunch at around 11:40am. The babies were still napping off and on so we ate while standing and wearing the babies. The conference resumed around 1:00 after rosary, by which time I fed the babies again. They napped in the Ergo Baby and about 3:15, they were nursed again as Christopher West closed up the conference. We drove home in the rain and after almost 3 hours, finally arrived home safely.
