Forgiveness Is For Everyone: To Forgive and Be Forgiven

Greetings, brothers & sisters in Christ :)
Here are my notes from the Theology on Tap that took place on Sept. 22, 2004:
Forgiveness: the ability to accept God's grace to let go
When you decide to forgive yourself & others, you go through a healing process.
Not forgiving loses all compassion.
Forgiveness begins in family because that's where hurt occurs.
Hard to forgive those you love, but easy to forgive strangers.
It's in God's command to follow in His footsteps.
Need to forgive even if they haven't asked for forgiveness.
Let the person go - it's God's problem.
God commands to love everyone, but you don't have to like everyone.
God forgives the sin; we forgive the person.
Humility & forgiveness go hand-in-hand.
Humility is the answer to everything.
If you don't forgive those who trespass, why should the Father forgive you?
The other person needs to make the decision to change.
God didn't say you had to be their best friend, but if you have the opportunity to help that person, it's your duty to help.
If someone hurt you, tell them.
